Aims & Objectives

The fundamental aim of the Network will be to provide mechanisms for the transfer of knowledge, ideas and people between groups relevant to engineered nanoparticles in the natural aquatic environment.

Specific objectives are:

  1. To identify specific basic and applied research needs on the short, medium and long term.
  2. To establish a core research community capable of undertaking further wide-ranging research initiatives.
  3. To help develop national and international collaborative research programmes that lead to new research areas in environmental nanoscience.
  4. To facilitate two-way knowledge transfer between academia and end-users and between experts in the field and early stage researchers such as PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
  5. To bring together researchers and end-users to generate new links and partnerships, including further research applications.
  6. To disseminate the outputs of the research and the Network through appropriate mechanisms.
